Andrès Tamm is realistic. He’s therefore aiming at the impossible. Or nearly. To enter the Top 10 for his very first Dakar. A relentless biker for 25 years now in the wide open spaces of his country, he has some impressive references that explain his ambition. Being a three-time runner-up of the Chilean championship behind Carlo de Gavardo, gives him ideas: “I also competed in Brazil with the current great champions and I know that I can be at their level”. For the remaining part, Andres has prepared through the practice of extreme disciplines and all kind of different sports. Piloting planes and gliders are among his activities and help him manage all kind of situations. “I like adrenaline” confesses this manager of a very big agricultural enterprise that exports products to the United-States and Europe and produces 15.000 litres of milk on a daily basis. A man of decisions, Andres is determined to manage a great Dakar. His knowledge of the terrain, like for the other competitors from the continent, will play in his favour. Add to that his expertise of the KTM 690 he has been riding for a year now and his long training sessions alone in the zone of San Fernando where he lives just 150 kilometres south of Santiago. Andres is all set for his first Dakar and his ambitious objective in the overall standing.
