Alexandre Winocq: "At least in the top ten overall!"
Eric Vigouroux and Alexandre Winocq, two inseparable friends with a total of 15 appearances, will arrive in Lisbon with some frustration and several precise goals. The frustration is due to the disappointment of last year. "We were in the first fifteen halfway through the race, explains Alexandre Winocq, but because of a tiny part that broke, we had to quit just after the rest day". Today the anger is almost forgotten. What remains for both men is a will to justify a certain spirit "to compete and no longer just to take part..."
The duo’s vehicle will like last year be a Trophy Truck. "Our prototype has kept a lot of strong points from the old Pro Truck but is a better machine", explains with pride Eric Vigouroux. The central engine is now "at the back which makes the vehicle a lot more efficient for dune crossings and perfectly adapted to rocky terrain".
With such a machine, the tandem’s objective is clear: "Finish at least first of the Open class, says Alexandre Winocq. "But we also want to at least finish in the top ten overall. The car can do it, so can we". "We want to get the Open trophy back from the hands of Robbie Gordon, confirms Eric Vigouroux. And finish on the podium of the two-wheel drive class in second or third spot".
